Synopsis: |
|
This book is designed to show you where and how to find Hawaii’s birds. It includes a wealth of information about ecology, behavior, conservation and travel. In addition it provides valuable information on weather, equipment, accommodation and how to gain access to restricted areas. It is not an identification guide. It is more of a guide to bird habitats than it is to the birds themselves so it is sure to increase your knowledge of the natural history of these fascinating islands. As Allan Keith, President of the American Birding Association Inc. said “Doug Pratt’s new bird-finding guide to Hawaii is as essential to any visiting birder as binoculars. The guide contains everything needed to seek all the special birds of Hawaii. I wished I ‘d had it for my last visit; now I’ll have to go back.” Sigh, such hardship.
