Synopsis:

How did Hawaii come to be? How did the original Hawaiians reach these islands? Learn about Hawaii's special foods, animals, plants and customs. This 32 page color book is chock full of information and fun facts about the island state. Kids can color on every page. Hours of fun for the whole family.

About the Author:

Barbara Holm has been in the publishing business in Hawaii for almost 30 years. She has been the co-founder and Editor of several local publications including Hawaii Foodservice News and The Hawaii Weilness Directory. She is also a freelance writer with many Hawail-themed articles appearing in national travel magazines. "A Visit to Hawaii" was truly a labor of Aloha written for children visiting the Islands and also meant to be enjoyed by resident keiki. She calls it "learning disguised as fun".

About the Illustrator:
While living in Hawaii, Anne Ingram fell in love with the Hawaiian culture, flora and fauna of the Islands. She illustrated a highly successful line of greeting cards and produced fun maps of each Island featuring the location of activities for tourists. She moved to Los Angeles and created an educational coloring book, "A Visit to Olvera Street", a story of where the city of Los Angeles began. It is still in use today by city and state agencies. Her knowledge of Hawaii is showcased by the lively illustrations in "A Visit to Hawaii".
