Synopsis:
|
|
In
this autobiography the co-author of MUTINY ON THE BOUNTY,
PITCAIRN'S ISLAND and other tales of adventure in the South
Pacific tells his story in a delightfully casual style. From the
"woodshed poet" writing youthful lines on the walls of
the family outhouse in Colfax, Iowa, through his career with
both the infantry and air services in WW I, to his life on
Tahiti and long friendship with Charles Nordhoff, Hall holds the
interest of his audience.
Almost everyone is familiar with Hall's work, but few know that
his life was more exciting than the historical events he writes
about. MY ISLAND HOME is a candid recounting of his adventures,
told in a frank and modest manner.
