Daniel Levey was an outdoors and hiking enthusiast who fell to an untimely death while on the Konahuanui Trail on O‘ahu, Hawai'i. His nineteen years, while short in span, were filled with energy and curiosity. Daniel was fascinated by both the insights on life that could be expressed with words, and the sights viewed from atop mountain ridges that words could not express.
Daniel’s Views: Inspirations of a Young Hiker is the celebration of a short life well spent in friendships and in learning, exploring, seeking new perspectives and gaining spiritually.
Compiled by his family-Joyce Cassen Levey, his sister Sara, and Norman Levey-this volume contains Daniel’s favorite quotations (some quoted exactly, some modified by Daniel) and pictures taken during the summer of 2003, including photographs developed posthumously from Daniel’s last hike.
A portion of the proceeds of the sale of Daniel’s Views will be donated to the Hawai'i Trail and Mountain Club to help maintain trails and encourage safe hiking. |
