Shilo Pa is more than a
well known name on Kauai, he is a musical phenomenon. Born and raised into a musical family in the small town of Anahola, Shilo began playing ukulele and writing his own music as a young boy. "I owe so much to my dad for bringing music into my life" says Shilo. "All the great music he sang and played when I was young, that’s still a part of me".
Shilo caught the attention of west coast record producer Angus Cooke and his debut CD “Leave Some Land” was born. Track 6 ‘Sweet Reggae” went straight to the top of the charts on the island music stations, while track 4 “Straight to the Heart” has been heralded by the critics as an instant contemporary Hawaiian classic.
Recently awarded both the 'Male Vocalist of the Year' and "DJ's Choice' awards at the annual Mokihana Festival, as well as being a 2001 Na Hoku Hanohano Awards finalist, Shilo and 'Leave Some Land' have been garnering attention world wide. Fans from as far as England have written expressing their delight with this unique CD.
Shilo’s music transcends generations and genres, touching deeply folks from all walks of life. Shilo sings about the realities of our modern life and reminds us that our island-grown sense of values must survive and thrive as we venture into the 21st Century. Enjoy the music!
