There’s nothing like watching a child grow, and become an individual. They often meet challenges in their young lives, conquering, as well as falling at times.
These two young men from the Island of Maui, proudly known as Küpono Käne, continue to share their gift of music with all of us. Kyle Arakawa, 18, a senior at Baldwin High and Lane Ikawa, 16, a sophomore at Maui High, both were so fortunate to be given an opportunity to do what they love and do best; composing, recording, and performing their own original music. They also mastered a variety of music instruments to create their own unique blend of Island music.
Who said dreams don’t come true. With a lot of hard work and dedication, Kyle and Lane’s dream came true in the Winter of 2001 with their first CD release entitled “Weekend in Makena”.
These young men have matured and have met the challenges of
today’s local music industry.
Küpono Käne is back with their second CD release entitled, “Beach Party”. They humbly share with you ten of their original songs, as well as one re-make, compiling a music masterpiece for all ages to enjoy. Kyle and Lane express their feelings about having fun at the beach, the islands we live in and the girls. Their originals will drive your emotions wild, and it will be hard for you to believe that you’re listening to two young men. The song “Come Dance With Me” compiles four different styles of music, “Caribbean, country, reggae, and disco” all in one. “It’s a Place, and Island Maui” express the love they have for their Island home. “Asking You Why, Together, I’m In Love With You, and True To You” are written about the ups and downs we have in an everyday romance. Experience for your self the high-energy music montage of Kyle and Lane. Their unique style of Island Contemporary music was recorded on Oahu and Maui at Kelela Records.
Kelela Records is proud to present Kupono Kane’s second CD release entitled “Beach Party”.
