A note from Danny Couch…….
Aloha to all my friends around the world. This is my latest CD called "Then & Now." This title was chosen because it spans my recording career from 1980 to the present. There are songs on this CD which actually launched my career as a solo artist. I worked with a group called "The Aliis" in the early 1980s, and I consider them to be the greatest group with whom I worked. Many of the songs I recorded with them are from the album entitled "The Aliis," became #1 hits. The two I selected for this Anthology CD, and rerecorded with a new feel and beat are, "You Are The Best Of My Life," which won Song of the Year in 1980, and "Lady You're My Rainbow," which became #1 the same year..
The song, "Ah, My Hawaii," also became #1 and was nominated for Song of the Year in 1983. I had the song "No Easy Way," in my personal collection prior to the recording of the "The Magic In You," CD. I have hand-picked a few songs from my earlier CDs, which complete the "Then." As, for the "Now," I have a few new recordings that I hope you will enjoy. I have blended an old classic song called "Kalua" from the movie "Bird of Paradise," and a new song sung by Josh Groban, titled "To Where You Are." I also recorded "To Where You Are," separately, as it deserves it’s own place. I have included two songs “All I Ask Of You,” and “The Music Of The Night,” from the Phantom of the Opera, which I previously recorded on a cassette single. This is why this CD is called "Then & Now." The songs are not in chronological order. I hope this becomes one of your favorite CDs.
