It all started “Down in the Valley”, then they took you to the “Shores of Waiehu”, and now the boys of Ekolu are taking you “Back to the Valley”. The 3rilogy is the first chapter in the book titled “EKOLU”. “Back to the Valley, The 3rilogy” is a compilation of hits that stretches the boundaries and shows the versatility of Ekolu. The music of Ekolu begins with love, their love for the land and the ocean, their love for each other, their love for family, and most of all their love for God.

The title track "Back to the Valley" and also "Groovy Reggae Music" tells of the every day life of Ekolu on Maui. Akoni’s love of the ocean and surfing is told in the song "Critical Liquid". When you hear something is "straight from the heart," that describes Makapu’s song "Mercy" , which tells about asking for God’s help in dealing with problems in a relationship. Lukela’s song, "When I Think of You" will draw everyone to tears, he wrote this song for his mother, who passed away when Lukela was at the start of his musical career. Of course you hear the love songs just like you are used to, with tracks like "You Are My Sensation" and "It’s The Way I Feel About You". This album has nine original songs on it, and some of the boy’s favorites like "Gypsy" and Fleetwood Mac’s, "Everywhere". One of the most amazing examples of Ekolu’s versatility is the track "Antonia", which is sung completely in Spanish although no one in Ekolu speaks the language. "Jah Say Me Love You" is a song that tells everyone about Ekolu’s love for God. A special spot on every album is set aside for God.
