The young, beautiful, happy hearted prodigy who brought us “Brittni X 3” in November, 2004 proves she is not a
shooting star that appears for only a moment, but rather a lasting, shining light of God given talent that gets
brighter as the years go by. Brittni Paiva, only 16 years old, winner of the 2005 Na Hoku Hanohano “Most
Promising Artist of the Year” award compels us to listen with her second release “Hear…”
Once again, Brittni plays bass, ‘ukulele, and slackkey guitar. Different from the first album, she taps into
different instruments: piano and her own voice, singing in Hebrew and Hawaiian. One can’t help but wonder how
such a young girl would even know such a sophisticated song like “Take 5.” But that’s just the thing, Brittni
not only knows…she feels. Beyond that, Brittni is responsible for producing, writing, playing the instruments,
and even arranging. “Hear…” introduces us to a different, more mature Brittni with the same humble spirit.
"Brittni is different, you can see it in her face and in the way she plays her music. It comes from her
soul."
