Satisfied has something for everyone. From the unmistakable
Keahiwai upbeat sound of songs like 'Push' and 'Where Are You
Now' to new ballads like 'Falling' and 'Time We Spent Together'.
Satisfied even takes you back to t he 70's & 80's with Diana
Ross & the Supremes 'Where Did Our Love Go' and Lisa Lisa & the
Cult Jam's 'Lost In Emotion'.
Seven of the cuts are Keahiwai originals. UB40's 'Don't Break My
Heart' was featured on our Christmas single as a preview to this
album.
Debuting their first CD entitled "Local Girl s", two University
of Hawaii students stepped into the world of Hawaii's
contemporary music community as Keahiwai. Keahiwai, which
roughly translates to "Fi re and "Water", represents the
personalities and music styles of Lei Melket and Mailani
Makainai respectively.
As ukulele comrades while attending Maryknoll School, Lei and
Mailani casually performed as a duo for special school events
and family parties. Their smooth grooves and comforting voices
were well received by audiences of all ages. Original
compositions, of which 8 are featured on "Local Gi r l s" CD,
were always included in their repertoire and favorites amongst
regular fans. Their original compositions, true to the heart and
captivating, were mainly generated from life experiences and
inspirations. Although relatively new to Hawaii's music scene,
Keahiwai has the chemistry to grow for years to come.
