About the CD
The legacy continues…Following in the footsteps of his famous family members (Skippy, IZ, and Moe Keale), Walter Keale
continues the music tradition that has made his family members a household word in Hawaii and elsewhere. In this first musical
journey as a solo artist, Walter, who is also a member of the group "Kaukahi", treats us
all to his very special renditions of some very familiar songs such as Hawaii 78, Ua Mau, and Eddie Kamae’s
E Kuu Morning Dew while at the same time offers several fresh compositions that will surely touch the soul of Hawaiian
music lovers. Walter, who grew up in California and Oregon, also displays his more contemporary side with a reinterpretation of
"Sting’s ‘Fields of Gold’ - ‘The Groves of Hala’" and his "Hawaiian Rock" song "Mele o Hauwahine".
It is our prediction that Brother Walter will no doubt create his own brand of music that will carve out his own identity and
niche in the Hawaii music industry, an thereby, generate his own fan base who want the legacy of his first cousins Skippy &
IZ Kamakawiwaole and his Uncle Moe Keale to continue. This offering is proof that the legacy continues
and it is now Walter’s kuleana.
