New and original, yet nostalgic, Buddy
Fo’s "Hawaiian Man, Nostalgic Journey" takes us down a winding
road of Hawaiian music. We’ll cross bridges to jazz and swing
across rivers to exotica. However, we’ll never venture far from
home.
Buddy Fo grew up listening to all types of music. Jazz, Latin,
and Hawaiian are among his favorites. Sneaking into clubs
underage to hear some of music’s greats, Buddy proved early on
that he wasn’t one who’d always play by the rules. He was the
first Hawaiian to play bongos and congas along with Hawaiian
music and helped pioneer the incorporation of modern and jazz
harmonies.
As "Hawaiian Man, Nostalgic Journey" is a reflection of who
Buddy is, one listen and you’ll feel like you know him. He’ll
also introduce you to those who came before like Lena Machado
and Gabby Pahinui, who strongly influenced him as well. Buddy Fo
is a true serenader. Whether in the personal sound room of your
car, or maybe at home with a glass of wine and your favorite
person, enjoy the smooth sounds of Buddy Fo.
