Palolo - biography
Three childhood friends growing up in Palolo, Troy Fernandez, Nathan Nahinu and Chino Montero, shared a common bond of music. They
played with youthful exuberance and were out to emulate their favorite groups.
On this album, they bring back the music they loved so much as youngsters but with the added dimension of Troy, Nathan and Chino's adulthood
influences and experiences. Hui Ohana's Ahulili, Naka Pueo, Nani Waimea, Panini Puakea... Sunday Manoa's classic He Hawaii Au...Chino's favorite
Crazy...Troy's favorites Maori Brown Eyes, Tears on my Pillow and Up On The Roof and Nathan's modern reggae beat of Down Under. Kalama'ula
demonstrates Chino's beautiful falsetto voice. The only original song, TNC, came about while jamming at Roy's studio.
Listen to their ear-catching vocal harmony and enjoy the fun and excitement of their ukulele and guitar solos as they bring a new sound to old
and familiar tunes.
Through all the years that separate Troy, Nathan and Chino from the first time they played together until now, one thing remains constant: their
youthful exuberance towards music. Little did they know that those childhood days of playing together would be practice and rehearsal for their
first album - PALOLO!
